Dr. Anil Dwivedi’s philosophy is centered on using his extensive training to provide highly individualized dental care with advanced techniques in a safe, comfortable setting. As your dentist in Vienna, VA, his goal is to understand each patient’s needs, develop a personalized treatment plan, and provide comprehensive care within one office whenever possible.
Dr. Dwivedi earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1991. He later completed an Anesthesiology Residency at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, advanced training that has become an important part of his approach to patient comfort and sedation dentistry. He began practicing dentistry in 1993 and opened his practice in 1995.
Throughout his career, Dr. Dwivedi has continued his education every year and has completed more than 2,500 hours of continuing education after dental school. His advanced education includes more than 750 hours in sedation dentistry, 500 hours in dental implants, 300 hours each in restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and periodontal therapy, and additional training in orthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, dentures, prosthodontics, and full-mouth rehabilitation.
His clinical experience spans a wide range of general and advanced dental procedures. Dr. Dwivedi has completed more than 2,500 dental crowns, 500 dental bridges, 5,000 fillings and restorative cases, 2,000 root canal cases, and 1,000 tooth extractions. His experience also includes more than 1,000 dental implants, 1,000 implant restorations, 500 veneer cases, 500 clear aligner or orthodontic cases, and 2,500 periodontal therapy and gum disease cases.
Dr. Dwivedi has also completed more than 4,000 sedation dentistry cases, reflecting both his anesthesiology background and his commitment to helping patients receive treatment in a comfortable environment. His comprehensive approach allows patients to receive a broad range of care, including restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, dental implants, root canal treatment, orthodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, dentures, TMJ treatment, and other advanced procedures in his office.
Technology is an important part of Dr. Dwivedi’s approach to diagnosis and treatment planning. He has used CBCT and 3D imaging and digital impressions for more than seven years and has more than five years of experience using same-day crown technology, dental lasers, intraoral scanning, guided implant technology, and digital smile design. CBCT technology is particularly valuable in his implant diagnosis and planning, while digital technology supports more efficient and detailed treatment planning across many areas of dentistry.
Dr. Dwivedi also provides services that patients may not expect to find in a general dental office, including sleep apnea and snoring treatment, airway assessment, and cosmetic Botox injections. His combination of anesthesiology training, same-day crown capabilities, CBCT-guided implant planning, and airway-focused assessment helps him provide a broad range of individualized care under one roof.
Dr. Dwivedi is a member of the ADA, VDA, and NVDS and continues to pursue continuing education annually to stay current with evolving techniques, technology, and standards of care.
Born in Canada, Dr. Dwivedi moved to the United States at age two and has lived in the DMV area since he was three years old. He and his wife have been married for 36 years and have three children and one grandchild.
